The different styles of blue site design
Alongside red and green blue is one of the most common color that you find or use in the site’s design. Firstly, because the clients asks it. Secondly, because you want to use it, as a designer because it suggests smartness, cold and trust and you want that in your designs. Thirdly, because it looks damn good. I didn’t want to just stuff these sites in the article and I decided to filter them for you, depending on what type of site design you would be interested in seeing. Therefore, you have creative, business, minimalistic and e-commerce websites in this list, all of them with a blue touch. I don’t know how many are there in this article. “A lot of them” sounds enough.
Creative
I love creative sites. You probably noticed that if you’ve read the weekly website inspirational articles. My admiration for these design is probably the reason for this list’s volume. That and maybe because it’s not that easy to make a design that looks rather conceptual and that proves that you have a rich imagination.

Business
Now, don’t take the headline too serious. I named it business because of the seriousness of their purpose… and because these designs don’t fit in the other three categories. Come to think of it, on the internet everything has become a business, even personal blogs, but that’s another issue. Mostly of the sites under this category are portfolios or product/company/football team presentation sites.

Minimalistic
Simple is beautiful and not just beautiful, but useful, effective. By using a white background and powerful typography you get the visitor’s attention. This is simple when you don’t have a lot of colors on the page like in the creative designs. Of course, simplicity makes it easy for the visitor to get where he wants. The color blue will mostly be found in these designs in the text used, but you will also see blue spots or even a blue background. And because Jan Zabransky mentioned it in the post named “Why logo designers should have a portfolio site“, I’ve added helveticbrands.ch to this list. Nice site. Simple, to the point and nice looking.

E-Commerce
Surely, e-commerce isn’t the most beautiful style in web site design but it can be touched by a designer’s imagination in interesting ways. Online shops are getting a new style, a nice look, an interesting and colorful ride when they are shopping online. The problem is that most clients want simple and ugly designs (not minimalistic, just plain ugly) not knowing that a site’s image matters a lot.
