Choosing a website hosting provider is not at all easy. Even if there are so many options out there, it doesn’t mean they are all reliable ones. There are so many people who have website hosting businesses that most likely in a 10 km radius I’ll find someone who can offer me a website hosting option and if this is your case too, don’t be fooled by any person offering you this, because you might end up with a lot of complaints and few satisfactions if any.
What I learned over the years is that you shouldn’t make the price an important factor in deciding to get a website hosting. Most of the times, an incredibly low price translates in an incredibly poor service. Don’t be cheap. If you want your site to work well pick a provider because of its quality.
To do that, look for web hosting reviews. Although some companies hire people to give good reviews, try to look thoroughly for the ones that don’t look too obvious and only take into consideration the reviews from people with sites with the same structure and traffic like your own. If a guy says a certain hosting provider is good because his HTML portfolio works great, it doesn’t mean that you WordPress blog will do to. There is an incredible amount of files and database queries which will be done by the server and you should be sure that it can manage.
Also, avoid hosting services which offer you unlimited bandwidth, disk space or email accounts. These are just myths which are meant to fool you.
I’ll leave here a list of 47 website hosting providers of which the first ones are what the people consider top web hosting companies, but that doesn’t mean you should be rushing to buy their services. Make sure you check what they are offering and if one of them suits your needs and budget create a hosting account with them.
