Lately more and more advertisements on TV have a more digital approach than usual, with the use of motion graphics to the maximum. Techniques vary from realistic CGI to vector graphics. In any case, their message is received very well due to the fact that we are intrigued by some of these wonderful advertisements and stay in front of the TV till the end to see the message that they are transmitting.
You see their work in commercials or in big movies but you never knew who they are or how they do it. They represent the hard working studios which give you those incredible motion graphics effects and animations you love. Most of these made a reel to show off their best work and give you a taste of their capabilities but make sure you watch their full portfolio also cause a few minutes of reel can’t contain their whole work and it would be a shame to miss something.

Grzegorz Jonkajtys or Greg, how he likes to be called, is an award winning Polish writer and director and it is best known for the short movie Ark for which he has been nominated to Golden Palm at Cannes film festival in 2007 and won Siggraph Electronic Theater “Best of Show” award in the same year. Over the years, the contributed as vfx artist and animation lead for films like Sin City, Hellboy, Blade III, Pan’s Labyrinth, Mist and Terminator Salvation.

You’ll watch in this article some of the best short animated movies that were created, most of them awarded or nominated for the Academy Awards. Most of these motion graphics masterpieces have a funny approach on the situations presented but you will also see some dramatic short videos. It will take you some to watch them all so I’m suggesting you to bookmark the article. I’ve watched all of these and I was astonished by their author’s creativity and exemplar execution.
Logorama is a 16-minute animated film written and directed by H5/ François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy and Ludovic Houplain, and produced by Autour de Minuit. The film depicts events in a stylized Los Angeles, and is told entirely through the use of more than 2,500 contemporary and historical logos and mascots. The film won the Prix Kodak at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 82nd Academy Awards.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, you have to now. It had its premiere on the 9th of November and soon transformed into a viral hit, as Lucas Martell likes to name it. I’m inviting you to watch the video and you will surely think the same thing as its creator, Lucas.
Pigeon Impossible is the tale of Walter, a rookie secret agent faced with a problem seldom covered in basic training: what to do when a curious pigeon gets trapped inside your multi-million dollar, government-issued nuclear briefcase.
The film took nearly 5 years to complete and is the first attempt at animation by writer/director Lucas Martell: “When the project started, it was mostly an excuse to learn 3D animation, but by the end of the project I had spent so much time reworking and polishing the story that I just wanted people to laugh.”
The end-result is a hilarious 6-minute romp through the streets of Washington D.C. as our hero fights to save himself, and the world from the chaos reigned down by a hungry pigeon. Breathtaking visuals and a sweeping soundtrack showcase the work of nearly one-hundred talented artists and musicians, and the film stands as a testament to what can be accomplished by a team of dedicated volunteers working for the love of their craft.
