As I promised I’ve update the Darkside skin for the new Beta version of the Yahoo Messenger v9.0. This black skin is very requested for download and I couldn’t postpone it’s updating too long.
The download link is below. Please read the instructions and notes.
Instructions:
- Extract the archive in C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\skins and then click on the marble on top of your messenger window and select Darkside.
Notes:
- There is a problem when you click someone’s name in the YM window as it appears a black line over it. To get rid of this click anywhere in the list where there isn’t a name or click on a group.
- I couldn’t change the color of the highlighted button text (the green text on the red button) because the option can’t be found in any xml for that kind of button.
- - I couldn’t change the status background color although there’s a .bmp file for that. Apparently, it doesn’t work. It’s better to leave it this way because otherwise you couldn’t have read the status… the same thing happens with the text in preferences which has a similar background.
- The skin works well only on the version of YM that appeared after the 29th of May. Upgrade! :)
